Digital art inspired by myriad of floral hints, splashed onto the garments in the form of pixels, Pankaj & Nidhi’s Spring Summer Collection brought with itself a new mix of technology meets nature. The designer duo interpreted the world of flora in a fantastic and surrealistic manner that evoked subtle hope of renewal.

Not at all made up, stylishly relaxed and effortlessly chic, seemed like the mantra for the pair’s current collection. It had short leggy numbers that draped the body smoothly, soft poetic construction, and lots of scope for liberated movement. See-through jujube colors, lime greens, pretty lavenders, pomegranate pinks, and traces of blacks, were splattered on pearly white smooth fabrics. The designer’s visual vocabulary of the collection was actually X-ray driven.

Truly summer, the garments had ombre-ed colours on airy cottons that were plucked and pulled to create exciting novel textures. The fabrics were cotton-silk voiles, cotton-satins, silk-jerseys, gauzy silk-linens and gossamer silk-chiffons. The assembly of designs included tulip dresses, hanging neck cowls, asymmetric pleats, bold but subtle prints, satin-cropped pants with bib tops and lots of short dresses.

The extra elements that made the show stand out, were the dreamy bubble shaped accessories created out of plastic bunched together to form remarkable pieces of jewellery; and the projection of inspiration visuals on the walls tied poetically into a presentation that almost looked like a vintage movie pulled out of an archival drawer. The show was an experience to truly treasure.
